WALL•E in wood

Found over at toysrevils blog, WALL•E carved from wood and absolutely gorgeous!
From the article it says:
"made by UK-based group Morpheus - as commissioned by Disney as a gift for John Lasseter, the Executive Producer of Wall-E; the animated movie by PIXAR."

Very cool!

Micro Schematic Details (Lego Mini Fig Anatomy)

Thank you everyone :) 100,000 Unique visitors

Thanks to everyone who has stopped by my website, helping me attain the bench mark of over 100,000 unique visitors today.

It took 506 days at an average of 197 unique visits per day
If you included reloads the tally was approximately a little less then 121,717 total hits.

The 100,000th visitor was from Martinique at around 9:49am Eastern time.

My highest day was yesterday Oct.15th with 13,462 unique hits. (Thanks again :)

The most hits came from the USA followed by Spain, Germany, Canada, the UK, France and Hungary (Hungarians really love their Gummi's).

So what does tis all mean?....

Well, not that much, but I do love statistics.

Thanks again everyone :)

Prime Surreal Estate

Had a great time at the show. Really enjoyed meeting some really groovy people. Turnout was huge, over a hundred by the time I had to leave. Ron English and his wife were a pleasure to chat with.

Dylan did a fantastic job putting together what was easily the best section of the festival and he and his crew deserve a round of applause! :)

Cant wait to do it again...

Thanks for the confidence in my work Dylan.

Sarah Wilkinson

Hey, who said MySpace wasn't good for anything?
I came across this artist who has some sick pencil skills, Sarah Wilkinson. I stopped doing much of my full illustration pencil work some time ago, mostly because it ends up being under appreciated. She, on the other hand, seems to have plenty of success judging by her fan base (me included ;) ).

Drop by her page and dig through her pics when you get a chance-

Thanks to Merkinstache for exposing me to her work. I am humbled by your kindness and enthusiasm. It will not go unrewarded... You are super groovy :)

Gummi Fetal Morph

just wanted to share-

Here is a short animation I put together of the lower portion from "Immaculate Confection".

It is helping science understand better the gestation of the Gummi Bear. We can now see is striking detail the fetal development that was once a mystery to even the most knowledgeable Gummi experts.

My son draws the grooviest monsters :)

Just sharing a few of my little 5 year old boy's monster sketches. He draws the grooviest monsters. Its funny how even if I try my hardest, I cant draw with the abandon that a child draws with. Years of training has forced my hand to only draw with control. when I try to draw like a child it only ends up looking stiff and forced.

Dont worry, they have been cleaned up and in pristine condition for shipping

I am incredibly psyched to be grouped with such an impressive list of artists.

Coming soon... :)

Mags and books features :)

It has been a busy three weeks with our new baby and all and a fantastic time for features on my illustrations. I will have the honor of having my work published in an upcoming book titled "Source Illustration Book" out sometime this fall. Produced by Maomao Publications and distributed by Harper Collins, I cant wait!

Also, out in the next month or so a Russian publication called "Khooligan" will showcase a collection of my works. Unfortunately only available in Russia.

Out next week will be a tutorial I wrote for "Digital Arts" on Non-destructive compositing in Photoshop.

Thanks to all of these fine rags for showing their love and confidence in my work :)

Stephanie Metz

Thanks James for pointing out this gorgeous piece done by Stephanie Metz.
"Teddy Bear Fetal Development" made of felted wool and buttons.

Cafe Press pulled all the "Splat!" items from my shop due to "possible copyright infringement".

The irony was not lost on me ;)
